Think about it....

You've just walked through hell and you've lived it. The atrocities you've witnessed or fell victim to are unfathomable to most. Now you are "trapped" in a refugee camp. Many say it's impossible to leave. You are stuck on a plot of land: no job, no way to grow food; you are helpless.

As one of the hundreds of thousands of refugee women in the camps, you are a statistic to the world and you feel forgotten. Days are spent questioning your entire existence. Visions and memories haunt your waking hours, the panic comes at night.

You watch your sweet children play and all you see are the bones protruding from their chests. All you hear are the deep coughs coming from their tiny lungs. There is no soap to wash your clothes, you ran out of the monthly food ration one week short, no money, and your entire family could use some medical attention. What do you do?

It's overwhelming, making it difficult to know where to start.

Thankfully various people are stepping up to the plate, helping to initiate a change in the lives of these displaced people. Many non-profits are doing what they can, but with the magnitude of the problems; more help is needed. This is why we are stepping in with the South Sudanese Refugee Project. We are going in to build a platform of dignity that will be the momentum toward a better life for these refugees. For the women

that looks like PTSD counseling, micro-enterprise businesses, and medical care for their children. Imagine the waves of positive change that will happen, when these women are able to bring in an income through chicken farming, hair weaving, jewelry, soap making, or whatever else is possible for them. They will be able to pay their children's school fees and get proper medical help when needed. Babies won't die of preventable diseases, because their mom will be able to afford medicine.

The women will also get some much needed counseling. Hope comes when someone takes the time to really listen to your pain. The counseling won't be just a one time visit. Counselor's will continue to come check on the women, helping them walk through the trauma of their past.

Bitter roots will be dug up, forgiveness will bring freedom, and their dancing won't just be to cover up their pain. It will be for joy and gratitude toward life. That's what you are a part of when you support this amazing project. You are a part of bringing hope and new life to women refugees who have walked through things no one should walk through. You are a part of transforming communities and bringing long term solutions to an issue much bigger than any of us. We can't stop the war, but we can bring God's love through good works and personal relationships. We can help ease some of their struggles. We can Love.
